Bonaventure Dental Care is an independent Baton Rouge, LA practice on Tiger Bend Road, where comfort guides every recommendation we make. Dr. Justin K. Bonaventure built this practice as a sedation specialist for patients who deserve a calmer experience and a team that treats them by name. Our scope of care covers preventive cleanings, restorative work, cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, Invisalign, and emergency treatment. Routine visit or complex care, you are in one set of hands from start to finish.

Preventive & General Dentistry
Preventive and general dentistry is the foundation of long-term oral health. Cleanings, exams, X-rays, fluoride treatments, and early intervention catch most problems before they need anything bigger. For families, we see patients of all ages under one roof, from a child’s first visit through adult and senior care.
Restorative Dentistry
Restorative dentistry repairs and rebuilds teeth that have been damaged by decay, injury, or wear. Our approach is conservative. We save tooth structure where we can and rebuild where we have to, with materials matched to each patient’s bite and aesthetic goals.
Oral Surgery
Oral surgery covers procedures that go beyond routine dental care. At Bonaventure Dental Care, the most common oral surgery procedures are wisdom tooth removal and tooth extractions. Third molars that are impacted, crowded, or pressing against neighboring teeth need to come out on the right timeline. We offer sedation for all oral surgery procedures, so patients who are anxious about surgical treatment can get the care they need in a setting that feels manageable.

Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry is for patients who want to change something about their smile, whether that is whitening discolored enamel, closing a gap, reshaping a chipped edge, or planning a complete smile makeover. We start with what bothers you, not with what we want to sell.
Orthodontics / Clear Aligners
We are an Invisalign authorized provider, which means clear aligner treatment with virtually invisible trays that move teeth on a planned schedule. Invisalign works for crowding, spacing, and many bite issues that used to require traditional braces. Aligner treatment also keeps oral hygiene easier than braces during care.
Implant Dentistry / Prosthodontics
When teeth are missing, dental implants are the closest replacement to natural teeth. They are anchored in the jawbone, do not depend on adjacent teeth for support, and feel and function like your own teeth. For patients where implants are not the right fit, dentures and partials remain a proven solution.
Emergency Dentistry
A broken tooth, sudden severe pain, a knocked-out tooth, or a swollen face that may signal infection are all reasons to call us right away. We hold same-day slots open for emergency cases. If we are closed, the line gives you a route to reach us.
Specialty / Additional
This is the category for the services that do not fit a single common bucket above. For Bonaventure Dental Care, the centerpiece of this category is sedation dentistry, our practice’s clinical specialty. Dr. Bonaventure offers IV sedation, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), and oral sedation, and chooses the right option with each patient based on the level of anxiety and the procedure planned. Treating dental anxiety with patience and skill is a thread through everything we do.
About Dr. Bonaventure and the Care You Will Receive
Dr. Justin K. Bonaventure is a Baton Rouge native who built this practice on a simple idea: comfort matters. Patients should not have to dread their dental visits, and dentistry should not feel like an assembly line. He earned his BS at Louisiana State University and his DDS at the LSU School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association, where he served as President in 2012.
His clinical specialty is sedation dentistry. For patients with dental anxiety, a strong gag reflex, complex treatment that needs more than one procedure in a single visit, or a history of difficult dental experiences, sedation dentistry is the difference between care that gets done and care that keeps getting put off.
Dr. Austin Safford joins Dr. Bonaventure on our clinical team. A Baton Rouge native himself, Dr. Safford completed his BS in Kinesiology with a Biology minor at LSU before earning his DDS. Both doctors care for patients across the full scope of services on this page, with Dr. Bonaventure leading the sedation cases.
How we approach treatment matters as much as what treatment we recommend. Conservative dentistry is the starting point at Bonaventure Dental Care. We watch a small problem before we drill into it. We rebuild a worn tooth before we replace it. And when sedation makes a difference between care that gets done and care that gets postponed for years, we use the right level of sedation for the patient in the chair, not the procedure on the schedule.
Finding the Right Care for You
If you are reading this page, you are most likely in one of a few situations. You are overdue for a cleaning, your insurance just renewed, you have a tooth that is bothering you, you are thinking about a smile change, or someone has recommended us. Each of those starts somewhere different.
If you are overdue for a routine visit, start with Preventive & General Dentistry above. If something hurts, look at Restorative Dentistry or Emergency Dentistry. If you have been putting off care because of anxiety or because you have not been to a dentist in years, the Specialty section above is the right place to begin. Sedation dentistry is what we do best.
For new patients, the first visit at Bonaventure Dental Care covers the basics: a thorough exam, X-rays we need (not extras), a cleaning if your schedule and gum health allow it that day, and a conversation about anything you want addressed. We do not push treatment plans during a first visit. We listen, we look, we tell you what we see, and we give you time to think before deciding next steps.
You Deserve a Dental Home Where Comfort Comes First
You deserve a dental home where the team knows your name, your dentist knows your story, and every visit feels less stressful than the last one. Whether you are new to Baton Rouge or have been putting off a dental visit for years, we will meet you where you are and build the right plan with you, not at you.
Call Bonaventure Dental Care at (225) 753-0123 to schedule your visit. New patients welcome. Existing patients, we look forward to seeing you again.
