For as long as I can remember I have HATED going to the dentist. I love my teeth and work diligently at home to take care of them; brushing twice daily, flossing daily, wearing my retainers nightly. But even as an adult with a full understanding of why biannual cleanings are important I still had... to bribe myself to go and would even stretch my 6 month cleanings out to 12 month cleanings. All of my experiences as a kid and young adult had consisted of lingering jaw pain and cracked lips from having so much equipment and gloves fingers crammed in my mouth. I would find myself holding back tears as they scraped my gums and was constantly having to remind myself to relax because I was contracting most of the muscles in my body. I always felt like dentistry was a scam because I take such good care of my teeth at home and dentists would tell me I needed fillings and if I didn’t get them right away I would require root canals in my future….all of that to say Bonaventure is THE VERY BEST dental experience I have ever had in my entire life. Brittany, the dental hygienist, made sure the entire experience was tailored to my comfortable. She gave my wonderful advice on how I could improve my at home dental care routine. Dr. Bonaventure was very nice and personable. He didn’t make any bogus suggestions of expensive unnecessary dental work. I would feel confident that if he recommended something that it would be in my best interest and based on sound medicine. I would recommend Bonaventure to anyone, especially anyone who has previously found visits to the dentist to be traumatic.read more
